Mohe is located near 53° north latitude, making it an ideal place to observe the Northern Lights. To encounter the aurora in Mohe, several conditions must be met. First, solar activity needs to be relatively frequent so that enough charged particles are released. Second, a clear and cloudless night sky offers the best chance to view it. Each year from September to April is the peak season for aurora activity in Mohe. During this time, longer nights increase the possibility of aurora sightings.
